Servicing & Maintenance

By taking out a service agreement with Advanced Diesel Engineering Ltd you are making a sound investment, ensuring that when you really need your generator to provide vital electrical supply, it will do so reliably. Regular testing and planned preventative maintenance routines are essential to keep your generator plant running efficiently.

Each ADE service agreement is tailored to suit the client's individual requirements whether the machine is running 24 hours a day or on standby duty.
On completion of an Agreement Acceptance Form and confirming our proposed schedule, our service engineer can visit your premises by appointment and carry out any of the required tasks categorised as A, B, C and D services.

'C' Service
Tests carried out:-

• Load Test

Provide a dummy load to the generator to give up to a 110% full load test. This service is normally carried out and logged periodically over a four hour period and would require access for our trailer mounted Load Banks.

'D' Service
Tests carried out:-

• Oil sample

Regular sampling of the engine can show any problems developing internally.  This allows our engineers to respond pro-actively and correct any defects before major and often costly damage has occurred.

On completion of the aforementioned, a verbal report would be made to the person in charge.
Any recommendations would be given in writing and not carried out without written consent.
Necessary minor adjustments or repairs (not involving replacement materials or parts) will be carried out under the terms of the agreement.

Routine Testing
When carried out as part of a service contract, routine testing of the generator plant gives confidence that all elements of the power system remain in full working order. Optional oil sampling can give prior warning of hidden problems before they become major mechanical failures. When testing the generator, if site load is not possible, ADE can provide temporary load banks to simulate full generator output.

In the event of a failure in service, our technicians can fault find mechanical and electrical problems which can be rectified on site or within our extensive workshop facilities.

For extra peace of mind ADE operate a manned 24/7 emergency call-out facility. If in need of an immediate response, a service engineer can be contacted and dispatched direct to site to restore power. Our service vans are well stocked with a wide range of spare parts for most models of generator.
